Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Welcomes New Director General
The MAA is pleased to welcome Air Marshal Richard (‘Dick’) F Garwood CB CBE DFC MA RAF as Director General Military Aviation Authority in succession to Air Marshal Sir Timothy (‘Timo’) Anderson KCB DSO MA FRAeS RAF, who is retiring from the Service. Regulation

Regulatory Publication Cycle
04/01/2013 - The MRP is currently undergoing its first major review since its inception in Aug 11. Consequently, there is expected to be a regular feed of amendments to the 1000 - 5000 Series of RAs over the first half of 2013. Following this review period, the MRP is expected to have reached a steady state, which will allow a regularised scheduled amendment cycle to be implemented. This schedule is an aspiration and will cater for most minor amendments to the MRP; however, it should be noted that it may be necessary to implement a change out of phase with the schedule. On these occasions the amendment will be published either as a direct update of relevant RAs or by means of RN or RI. Please see Regulation Publication Cycle for the schedule of amendments.

Removal of RA 1001
RA1001 (Centres of Expertise) has been removed from the MRP suite as it was identified as not adding value. Affected elements (1000 Series combined document, 1000 Series Table of Contents and RA 1130) have been amended accordingly.

Update to RA 1140 - Military Air System Technical Exploitation
16/05/13 - NAA13/20 relates to the amendment of RA1140 - Military Air System Technical Exploitation. This RA has been uplifted to Issue 2 and the 1000 RA Series Combined Document has been uplifted to reflect the change.

08/05/2013 - NPA 13/07 published for consultation. introducing the New RA 3130 - Air Traffic Management (ATM) Equipment Safety Management: the RA can be found at the end of the NPA. Consultation for this NPA will close on 7th June 2013

NPA 13/06 published for consultation:RA 4800 – 4849 series (MRP Part 145)
26/04/2013 - NPA 13/06 is published for consultation, introducing revised RA 4800 – 4849 series (MRP Part 145) and CAE 4000 Series RA restructuring. This proposed change will effect ll maintenance organizations. A flow chart is included to assist the regulated community and the document should be read in entirety.

NPA 13/05 published for consultation: New RA 3140
18/04/2013 - NPA13/05 introduces the new RA 3140 – Air Traffic Management(ATM) Equipment End to End Safety: the RA can be found at the end of the NPA. Consultation for this NPA will close on 30 May 2013.

DII Users - Caching issue
11/04/2013 - DII Users only: Due to caching on Enterprise Gateway Service (EGS) accounts, access to the MRP via this method may not deliver the most up to date version of publications. Therefore it is recommended that EGS users access the MRP via the Defence Intranet site. Direct access via the internet (non DII) is not affected. This issue will be resolved with the introduction of Internet Explorer 8.

MAP-02 Updated to issue 4.3
08/04/13 - The Manual of Maintenance and Airworthiness Processes Series of Forms - MAP-02, has been updated to issue 4.3

Update to RA 1020 -Roles & Responsibilities: Aviation Duty Holder (DH) and DH-Facing Organizations
08/04/13 - NAA RA 1020 Issue 2 has undergone a major rewrite and a title change, it is advised to read the RA in entirety. The Table of Contents for the 1000 Series (now issue 8) and the combined 1000 Series documents have uplifted to reflect the change
